PSYCHPREP’s single-volume study approach to the CPLEE provides candidates with a thorough understanding of Legal and Ethical Standards. The CPLEE study volume covers California Laws and Regulations Relating to the Practice of Psychology and APA’s Ethics Code. As the CPLEE is a multiple-choice exam, it is most important that content learning focuses on the subtle differences between concepts that are similar (e.g., the difference between confidentiality and privilege, or the difference in rules that apply to disclosing records for children vs. adults). PSYCHPREP’s CPLEE Study Materials, online tests, and workshop audio CDs or MP3s enrich concept understanding.
While the foundation of PSYCHPREP’s CPLEE success strategy is solid content mastery, success on the CPLEE requires more — content knowledge alone is not enough. The CPLEE is not a test of rote knowledge, but rather a test of reasoning and critical thinking. PSYCHPREP discourages extensive use of flashcards, as flashcards tend to focus on memorization.
PSYCHPREP’s CPLEE success strategy includes three critical components.
Regardless of your natural aptitude for multiple-choice tests, test-taking skills can be dramatically improved. PSYCHPREP provides a highly effective test-taking strategy that is incorporated in PSYCHPREP’s CPLEE Workshop audio CDs/mp3s.
In addition to teaching you how to approach multiple choice test questions, PSYCHPREP’s CPLEE online testing program is designed to optimize development of test-taking skills. Detailed rationales are provided for every question, for correct responses as well as all incorrect responses. Our testing program also gives each test-taker the opportunity to take all test questions three times, with additional access given at no charge, if necessary.
PSYCHPREP’s provides a structured study schedule, and generally recommends studying for the CPLEE about 10 – 15 hours a week, for four weeks. The study schedule can easily be modified for candidates planning to take the CPLEE within a shorter (e.g., two weeks) or a longer (e.g., two months) timeframe.
PSYCHPREP suggests that program participants begin CPLEE preparation by taking the CPLEE Pretest prior to any content studying. The CPLEE Pretest establishes a baseline test score, and provides candidates with a good idea of how concept knowledge is tested on the CPLEE. Over the course of study, each practice test should be taken three times.
PSYCHPREP offers very clear guidelines for expected progress on our CPLEE online testing program. We provide specific test score cutoffs that correlate highly with CPLEE success. Most PSYCHPREP participants get through the preparation process and the CPLEE with relative ease. Should a problem emerge, we encourage program participants to contact us, and strategies for remediation will be quickly recommended.
PSYCHPREP’s CPLEE program will help you pass the CPLEE the first time you take it!
